High quality training in Maxillofacial prosthodontics is fairly limited across Europe and so, in conjunction with our regional hospitals, we have initiated opportunities for Overseas clinicians to train in our department alongside our NHS funded trainees. Most of our overseas trainees come for 1 to 2 year funded fellowships via the Tier 5 visa scheme which allows non-UK nationals to train for upto 24 months in the UK before returning home. All our fellowship trainees are sponsored by their sending organisation who agree to pay their training fees and living expenses.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants for our fellowships must ideally

  • Possess a registrable dental qualification and be eligible for registration with the GDC (General Dental Council)
  • Demonstrate evidence of a broad based training in dentistry being at least 5 years post qualification.
  • Provide evidence of experience and postgraduate training in prosthodontics.
  • Show excellent language and written skills as evidenced by acquisition of IELTS with a mean score of at least 7.5
  • Be sponsored and supported by their home institution.
